A clear message ahead of El Clásico

Barcelona star Dani Olmo has stated that he was not concerned about his recent goal drought, emphasizing that what mattered most to him was the team’s continued success in securing victories.

This came after Olmo found the back of the net in a 5-2 win against Real Betis this past Saturday, as part of the ninth round of La Liga.

According to Spanish newspapers, Olmo has rediscovered his scoring touch—which had eluded him since the start of the season—by netting Barcelona’s fifth and decisive goal at the La Cartuja stadium. This contribution helped the team secure its ninth victory in what has been a flawless start to their campaign.

In comments made to Barça’s official channel, the attacking midfielder said: "I am very happy to continue scoring or providing assists, and to keep contributing to the team. I hadn’t scored for a while, but that didn’t bother me. All I wanted was for the team to win, and we have been doing just that. I’m happy, but my happiness stems from the fact that the team won and we secured the three points."

Olmo played as a "false nine" against Galatasaray, while he operated as a playmaker against Real Betis. Discussing Barcelona’s preparations for the upcoming challenges in the Champions League and La Liga, he remarked: "I try to give my best for the team. Everyone is happy and ready for the week ahead. We are set to face the Champions League holders and our biggest rivals—we’re very excited."

Barcelona is bracing for a pivotal week: on Tuesday at 9:00 PM, they will travel to face Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League, followed by a clash against Real Madrid—the *Clásico*—on Sunday at the same time, held at the Spotify Camp Nou.
