Rodri scores Barca second goal
Rodri netted his first goal for Barcelona during their 5-2 victory over Real Betis this past Saturday, as part of the ninth round of La Liga. He found the back of the net with a header in the 41st minute, connecting with a corner kick delivered by Fermín López.
The goal came in what was Rodri’s tenth appearance for the *Blaugrana*. It also marks the second headed goal the Spanish midfielder has scored in the last three years.
The last time Rodri scored with a header—within the past three years—was on March 4, 2026, while he was playing for Manchester City against Nottingham Forest, following a cross from Rayan Aït-Nouri.
Consequently, his header against Real Betis—assisted by Fermín López—marks the second goal Rodri has scored in this manner this year, according to the statistics website "Statsroom."
With this victory over Real Betis, the Catalan side now sits at the top of the league table with 27 points—five points clear of second-placed Atlético Madrid—while the Andalusian team remains on 19 points, holding third place in La Liga.
The *Blaugrana* are now preparing for a high-stakes Champions League clash, as they travel to face France’s Paris Saint-Germain next Tuesday in the third round of the competition.
