"I play it almost every day."
A Turkish report has revealed that Egyptian star Mohamed Salah—a winger for Trabzonspor—has a passion for a game other than football.
According to Turkish websites on Sunday, Salah spends his free time playing this game on an almost daily basis.
The websites indicated that Salah participates in chess matches via a Turkish platform affiliated with a chess community, and his rating is 1,400 points.
In remarks quoted by the website, Salah said: "My obsession with chess has reached the point of madness. I play it almost every day, and I really love playing this game."
Salah has been delivering impressive performances for Trabzonspor since joining the club on a free transfer this past summer. According to the same report, he has scored 8 goals and provided 4 assists in 10 matches, contributing directly to 12 goals.
Given his remarkable attacking output since the start of the season, Salah is expected to be one of Trabzonspor’s key weapons in the highly anticipated clash against Beşiktaş.
Trabzonspor currently sits in fifth place with 13 points—two points behind fourth-placed Beşiktaş—while Galatasaray leads the table with 19 points, followed by Amed Sportif (17 points) and Fenerbahçe (16 points).
